Bags Out

So. We've been planning to move. Really we needed to start looking after Christmas, but it's a lot of hassle and also - as I said to Matthew last Wednesday, I like our flat. Admittedly, it's in Cheltenham. And it's pretty small. And the infestations (to date: sp*ders; ladybirds; book lice; flour beetles; mould) aren't that great. But it's nice and secluded and we have pretty views...

So I guess it was lucky that last Thursday our landlord came round and said he was going to sell the flat. No excuses now!

We'll be moving to Brum (I was tempted by the area called 'Weoley Castle' to keep with the blog name), and we looked at our first Brummie property today. Because we'll be moving in the next month or two I've started sorting things out - and have decided to keep a tally of the stuff we get rid of. I did this when I moved out last year, and find it's really reassuring when you look aghast at all the stuff you are moving with, to know how much stuff you aren't.

(yes, I know there's a big gap, I can't get rid of it)

Today the landlord rang to say he's bringing two estate agents round next Tuesday. So now we're trying to make everything relatively tidy. This evening I went through some boxes that have never really been unpacked properly. I've managed to condense seven boxes down to three, but I really don't understand why one earth nearly every box had one of these in:

The odd new toothbrush - fine. I get that. But six??? Why do I have six unused toothbrushes randomly scattered through boxes filled with non-toothbrush related items? Obviously my original packing wasn't quite as orderly as I imagined.

Happy New Year! (& Happy Yule; & Happy Christmas; etc etc)

Apologies to everyone for not sending out 'Happy ___________' cards this Yuletide - consider this a rather belated e-card, illuminated with a photo of our fun-filled, action-packed New Year's Eve:

Since I last wrote I have been mostly trying not to flare up my RSI. It healed a lot over December (when I pretty much did nothing) so now I'm just trying to keep it healed yet actually do stuff. I am hopefully doing some swapsies for some voice recognition software, and then - providing it works and we don't have a repeat of the graphics pad debacle - will be able to email people a lot more.

If you haven't heard from me for ages & you're waiting for a reply... I don't hate you! I feel tremendous amounts of guilt on a daily basis for not contacting you, I am just physically incapable of doing it.
